Notionlytics overview

Set up Notionlytics

In this article, we will provide detailed guidance on how to set up Notionlytics.

We will break down the setup process into three sections:

  1. Set up Notionlytics workspace

  2. Activate page tracking

  3. See the results

Set up Notionlytics workspace

To set up the Notionlytics workspace, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to the Notionlytics app.
  2. Enter a name for your workspace and click 'Create workspace.' Note: You can edit the name later at any time.
  3. Connect to your Notion account by clicking on 'Connect Notion.'
  4. Select the root pages of the pages you would like to track. Notionlytics needs access to these pages to set up tracking.
  5. Your Notionlytics workspace is successfully created. Well done! Now, click 'Select pages' and move on to the next part - activating page tracking.

Activate page tracking

After setting up your Notionlytics workspace and storage configuration, it's time to activate page tracking.

On the Pages section of your Notionlytics workspace, you will find a list of all the pages you have shared with the app.

To find the needed page, scroll through the list or use the search. The search input allows you to locate the desired page quickly. For more information on how the search input works, please refer to the Search page options guide.

To start collecting analytics for a specific page, click on the page and then click on the "Activate" button found in the side panel. This will embed the tracking widget into the page. If you need to activate multiple pages at once, select as many pages as you need and click the "Activate all" button.

Tracking widget location

Even though the widgets are embedded automatically, if you have long pages, we recommend moving the tracker closer to the top. This will ensure that you collect 100% of your page visits. For more details, please refer to the "Optimal placement for widget" article.

See Results

Once you activate page tracking in Notionlytics, the app immediately starts collecting analytics. If someone is on the page you are tracking, you will start seeing analytics on the real-time report. However, for the rest of the reports, data usually takes up to 24 hours to appear.

Refer to the Reports & Analytics section for more information on understanding your analytics data.
